Gemstone of the day ~ Fluorite

Fluorite. Beautiful, translucent, and oh-so-handy to carry when you're feeling stressed! Most people look to Hematite when they need a good grounding stone, but Fluorite does the job just as well, if not better!


This gentle healer will detoxify and energize all of the chakras, especially when placed on the Heart or Throat chakra. It allows us to heal from heart based issues, whether emotional or physical. Fluorite will dispel negative energy, especially from the environment, such as electromagnetic "smog" from computers. It then reenergizes the atmosphere. A great stone to have around you if you work in an office to reduce stress or negative situations. It's great also, if you work near a lot of computer equipment!

Fluorite comes in variations of greens, blues, yellow, and purples. Some Fluorite is all green, some all purple. I think the nicest pieces are those that blend the green, purple, and aqua in a stone of translucent beauty.

Magickally speaking, Fluorite is connected to the element of Air. It will bring clarity to a situation, allowing you to focus more closely on the answer you're seeking. Because it's a great "mind stone", it's also great for those who are looking to hone in on their psychic and intuition abilities! Overall, Fluorite is the stone of Mental Clarity.

Last but not least, Fluorite is a great stone to carry or hold when you're studying. It will assist in your mind's ability to retain knowledge. Stock up on some Fluorite before that next big test! You can light a yellow candle (yellow being the color of the element of Air), and set a few tumbled Fluorite gemstones around the candle while you're studying. I highly suggest our hand rolled mini beeswax candles for this. They burn beautifully, and are all natural with a cotton wick.

Much adieu about nothing...

Many of you have already heard the news. We're closing the store. We're done. Stick a fork in it done. Yup, that's right. Eye of Nuit will be closing it's doors sometime in March, if not sooner. I may, or may not, blog more of the details of this at a later date.The online store will remain (Pagan Stuff Cheap), and there will be an online store set up at the Eye of Nuit site where I will sell various and sundry items that don't go on Pagan Stuff Cheap.

The nice thing about this monumental decision is that I am free to allow my "Give A Shit" to run amok. And believe me, the GAS is having a blast!

Now, onto the redesigned blog! I needed something fresh, something new. I've been selling some of my witchy wares under the Enchanted Moon Alchemy™ name, and wanted to incorporate that into this fresh new blog. But for some reason, since it's a blog, the word "alchemy" just wasn't fitting. So I sat and thought a while. Then the word "chronicles" popped into my head and I said BINGO!!

But then, being the Gemini that I am, I asked myself WHY the word "Chronicles" was so hauntingly familiar. Took me a while. Then it hit me.  The Grimoire Chronicles series by Sally Dubats (my new FAV author!) You can find the first book in the series on Amazon. Please do check it out!

In mundane news, I finally got the ScentWerx site up and running.  It's done fairly well for being so new. We've got tons of Dave's beautiful candles listed, I added some Smelly Jellies, and recently added Shower Gels, and a luxurious Body Mist. In the coming weeks I'll have the silky smooth body lotions, and some OHMYGODDESS sugar scrubs.



I've committed myself (if you stopped here and didn't read any further, please do not pass Go, do not collect $200, just head directly to the asylum) to writing a book this year. After the store officially closes. There's a story that is absolutely begging to be told. And I've promised myself that names probably won't be changed to protect the not-so-innocent. ::evil grin::

One other project I'm taking on this year, and that is learning how to make my own herbal products. Tinctures, salves, brews, and the like. So if you thought that closing the physical store meant I'd just be a lazy housewife, think again LOL!

At Eye of Nuit, we are so grateful for the blessings we have received and continue to receive. You, our customers, are the best blessings of all! As the Wheel of the Year has turned once more, we celebrate the Autumn Equinox by giving thanks to the abundance we've received in our lives. This is the second of the three harvests, and we begin to store all that we have grown to get us through the upcoming winter. But for now, Fall is officially here! Recipe of the Month: Warm Mulled Cider Here's a DELICIOUS recipe that's easy to make! Ingredients: 2 quarts (8 cups) fresh cider 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar 10 thin orange slices, cut in half 1/2 medium apple, cored but not peeled, cut into thin slices 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 to 3 inches long, broken in half, plus 10 extra for garnish 4 whole cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg 1/2 cup dark rum (see note) Place the cider in a large saucepan set over medium heat, and heat until it is warmed through. While the cider is heating, melt the butter in a large, heavy saucepan set over medium heat. When melted, add the sugar and stir about a minute. (The sugar will not be completely dissolved.) Add the warm cider and stir until all the sugar has dissolved into the liquid. Add half of the orange slices, the apple slices, the halved cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and rum. Stir and cook at a simmer, until flavors have melded well, 8 to 10 minutes. (Cider can be prepared 2 days ahead; cool, cover, and refrigerate. Reheat over medium heat, stirring often.) To serve, ladle warm cider into mugs or cups. Garnish each serving with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick. Serves 10. Note: Dark, rather than light rum, works best in this recipe. Myers Dark Rum works particularly well in this mulled cider. You can omit the rum for a nonalcoholic preparation, and it will still taste good. You can't please everyone

Thinking back on yesterday, I realized one very simple truth:

You Can't Please Everyone!

If you're wondering what "yesterday" was mostly about, you can find all the juicy details on my BFF Kallan Kennedy's blog, or another wonderful blogger - Mrs. B of Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom. 

In addition to watching (and a bit of interacting with) the hullaballoo, I was also treated to an admonishment based on religious intolerance of my own.  See... recently I've gotten the sewing bug.  And my creative muse took me to new and unchartered territories in the form of my new line of Poppet dolls. 

Paige Poppet, who is actually the second doll in my line, was so darn cute, and so much fun to make, that I decided to list her on my Etsy shop.  And of course, I shamelessly plugged her on Facebook. 


A few weeks ago, I happened upon a young girl's profile on Facebook.  A girl who I knew many years ago.  I thought "oh, how cool!", and sent a Friend Request, which was almost immediately accepted.  Now, this girl comes from a Mormon background.  And before any of you think I'm going to bash Mormons, you're terribly wrong.  The point being, this girl came from a home where Mormonism (which is, in fact, a Christian based faith) was preached, but not very well practiced.  They were a very prideful family, taking money out of the mouths of their employees (i.e.:  not paying them) and "borrowing" but never paying back.  They hurt countless people in their quest for the almighty dollar.  All the while thumping their Book of Mormon when it suited them.

Fast forward to yesterday:  So I put up a post about my new doll, Paige.  And immediately I began getting really favorable comments.  Until my former acquaintance - who had yet to post anything on my wall or message me in any way up to this point, showed up.  Her comment?  "That's nothing to play with... and is that a pentagram that it is standing on... SERIOUSLY???"  Yes.  Seriously.  And then she de-friended me.  Lolz.


So... although there is probably a lot more I could say, I found this video on You Tube and would like to leave you all with it.  And a little cheer:

What the...???

OMG's Nuit'ers!  I'm SO behind in my blogging!  A month filled with ups, downs, and total busyness, I tell ya!

I'll start first with the "downs" first.  The company that brought me many great years of conventional employment is being forced to shut it's doors as of June 13th and I'm being laid off this week.  It's sad, scary, and yet liberating all at the same time.   Delivery Solutions, Inc. has been good to me.  I've grown and learned so much.  There will be many good people who will be affected by the closing of the company, and my heart goes out to them.  There are others who will need to take a few steps back and learn to be grateful for what the company provided for them for many, many years.  My feeling is that if you hang your hat on who you are in every way, not just what your "status" in life is - then you'll be alright.  Dave and I - we'll be alright! :-)  Rich or poor or just in-between - be happy for what you have.  I am! 

So what's the "ups"?  Let's see, we've been super busy getting ready for our first ever vending event at Gaia Fest!  Dave worked tirelessly on cultivating his candle making methods, and we put our heads together to bring you some of the most beautiful palm wax and soy wax candles you'll find anywhere.  I've blended some of my own scents to bring you aromas that will knock your witch hats off!

The picture to the left here is just a small representation of the beautiful palm wax candles that are part of the CandleWerx™ lineup.  They are 1.75" wide x 4" high.

Our 3.9 oz. jars of 100% soy wax also come in a variety of scents such as Coconut Lime, Mint Bliss, Fab-Breeze! (to eliminate smoke & odors), Citronella, Sugar Fairy, Dreamsicle, and much more.  The soy wax burns clean, and will scent your room whether lit, or not.

In the coming months we'll introduce NEW scents, and we're looking at having a "Candle of the Month" offering.

Not wanting to stop there, I have developed my own line of Bath & Body products.  Eye of Nuit now features BathWerx™ soaps & bath salts and BodyWerx™ lotions.  We currently offer Shea Aloe Body Butter and Goats Milk & Honey lotions.

A new crowd-pleaser is our Coconut Lime shea butter soap:

They come in several different Celtic knot shapes.  These soaps lather well, and rinse nicely!

In the "other" news department:  my BFF Kallan Kennedy is doing an AMAZING giveaway featuring a $25 gift certificate to our online store Pagan Stuff Cheap!  She's brilliant!  I got to visit with Kallan and her clan earlier this month.  Such a treat to see my BFF after many years!  She made homemade lasagna, her signature artisan bread and LEMON COOKIES and LEMON CAKE!  Lyssa, her beautiful daughter who I just adore, made the tastiest salad with all kinds of fresh greens & goodies.  I left there FULL, content and happy!
